The number of mobile subscribers reached 50.6 million at the end of 2010. SK Telecom leads with a 50.6% of market share, while KT has 31.6% and LG Uplus 17.8%. KT's market share inched up 0.3% from the previous year thanks to the popular Apple iPhone.

LG Uplus, the smallest mobile carrier in the local market, unveiled a mobile advertising platform, called "Uplus AD" which targets smartphone applications.
Uplus Ad can be used by all smartphone applications, and allows all application developers to run the program regardless of the operating system they use.
