SK Telecom, the leading mobile carrier in Korea, signed an agreement with China's Lenovo to provide its mobile applications to the Chinese vendor's smartphones from as early as this year. Initially, Korean apps will be offered to Lenovo's smartphones sold in China, later it will expand into the global market.

SK Telecom, which runs the online application marketplace called "T Store" for its smartphone users, said it will introduce an "In-App Ad" that is similar to Apple's iAd mobile advertising platform.
Once the "In-App Ad" is commercialized sometime this year, SK Telecom is expecting that the ad platform will help generate revenue for application developers.
