Long Term Evolution (LTE) is emerging as the hot new offering in the mobile industry and an avalanche of news is expected to come out of Mobile World Congress 2011, scheduled to begin February 14 in Barcelona, Spain. For the first time, a new concept in LTE technology utilizing cloud computing will be demonstrated at the event.
KT, Intel and Samsung Electronics said they will introduce the Cloud Communication Center (CCC) based on LTE technology at MWC 2011. According to the companies, the CCC enables a general server and modem to act as a base station to prepare for the rapidly growing volume of data traffic while reducing operational costs.
