Until 2009, Samsung was far behind other smartphone leaders such as Research In Motion and Apple, or even Taiwanese maker HTC.
It has, however, been moving fast to adopt Android and its own bada-platform with Symbian and Windows. Samsung is succeeding in the smartphone space based on hardware differentiation and marketing power.
