While the Korean version of mobile WiMAX, or WiBro (wireless broadband), which first commercialized in Korea in 2006, is drawing attention as one of candidates for the 4G standard along with Long-Term Evolution (LTE).
Theoretically mobile WiMAX based on Wave2 offers up to 37 Mbps for downlinks and up to 8-10 Mbps for uplinks while providing 2-3 Mbps for data speeds while on-the-move at up to 120 km per hour. What's the real speed for users?

KT, the sole distributor of the Apple iPhone in Korea, is allegedly talking with Apple to introduce the iPad with the "Wi-Fi" and "3G + Wi-Fi" version, as well as a version with WiBro, the Korean version of mobile WiMAX.
Prior to this in January, KT and Apple were reportedly preparing the iPhone 4G, which supported mobile WiMAX in the local market. Apple's iPhone 4G is expected to unveil in June.
