Thanks to the Broadband Convergence Network (BcN) project conducted from 2004 to 2010, 13.3 million Korean households are connected to high-speed Internet and about 30 million subscribers are enjoying wireless Internet with 1-2 Mbps speed, according to the KCC.
The number of subscribers to fixed broadband service is 13.3 million in 2010, up from 860,000 in 2004. Wireless subscribers increased 64 times to 29.5 million in 2010 from 460,000 in 2004.
