SK Telecom's CEO Man-won Jung said at an October 25th press conference that SK Telecom had been stuck in a closed policy in a walled garden and this caused its failure to achieve success as a global company.
Although SK Telecom had been trying from 2000 to 2005 to establish its own platform in anticipation of the importance of the platform business, the company failed to create its own ecosystem because of a lack of steady investment and inability to get past the initial efforts, the SK Telecom CEO said.
