In the third quarter, the main variable factor in the Korea smartphone market was the Apple iPhone. Due to the delay from July until September of the iPhone 4 release, Samsung Electronics was able to pounce on the situation.
Since the debut of the iPhone last November, the Korean smartphone market has been forming into a Samsung versus Apple composition with the iPhone 3GS vs. Omnia2 and then the iPhone4 vs. GalaxyS.
